Engine bays need special attention, especially in modern cars with sensitive electronics. A clean engine bay not only enhances the overall appearance of a vehicle – useful prior to a sale – but also makes it easier to spot leaks and drips before they become problematic.

In the case of this Nissan 350Z, new to the owner, we used a combination of citrus and solvent degreasers and steam to safely remove built up dirt and grime deep in the engine bay, before removing residual moisture with a warm air blower, waxing painted surfaces and dressing plastic trim to enhance the finish.

Lexus I250 - Nano-Ceramic Protection and Headlight Restoration

 

This 2005 Lexus IS250 came to us from a customer in Tetbury for a light correction detail, Nano-ceramic paint seal for ease of maintenance, engine bay valeting and headlight restoration to remove yellowing from oxidisation and restore the lens clarity.

The paintwork was quite dull and, under lights, the bonnet and roof in particular showed signs of poor washing technique in the form of heavy scratching and swirl marks.

A multi stage machine polish over the space of 10 hours took care of these and gave a huge lift to the paintwork.

The 4 piece engine covers were removed for thorough cleaning and the rest of the engine bay steam cleaned and dressed back to perfection before refitting.

The headlights were then carefully wet sanded and machine polished clear of all degradation, and a coat of crystal lacquer applied to protect the finish.

Finally the 2 stage protective glass coat was applied to the paintwork and allowed to cure for 24 hours ready for the customer to collect.
